Celebrating improvements in care homes across North West London
The My Home Life England team at City, University of London delivered a leadership support programme to care home managers, which led to improvements to leadership and staff morale, and to care and support for residents and their families.
Care home managers recently came together at City, University of London to celebrate the improvements that have been made in their homes across North West London.
Working with NHS North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and the local borough councils, My Home Life at City delivered a leadership support programme to 51 care home managers.
The programme led to better working across health and social care, improved leadership and staff morale, and better care and support for residents and their families.

Care home managers also reported a:
- 90% increase of confidence in their professional skills
- 93% improvement in the quality of engagement with their staff

CCGs have commissioned My Home Life England to deliver further programmes from April 2019 onwards, not only, for care home managers, but also, managers working in domiciliary care.
Professor Julienne Meyer CBE, Co-Director for My Home Life England is excited by this new development and said:
“My Home Life have now worked with over 1,500 care home managers across the UK, with consistent positive feedback. We have always believed the evidence-informed frameworks underpinning our programme would work in other settings and with other age groups. It is wonderful to be given the opportunity to test this out with people being cared for in their own homes. It has been brilliant to see so many care home professionals share the positive impact that the leadership programme has had on them. The programme has helped to create many skilful leaders where staff are better led and delivering better outcomes for our residents and their families.”
