Community Connections

Feeling part of the community is key to quality of life for people living in care homes and other care settings.

An essential part of our work recognises the importance of connections between people and communities. Our experience leading community engagement initiatives across different care settings has informed a range of resources and bespoke options to support people in making community connections.

Care Home FaNs

Care Home Friends and Neighbours (Care Home FaNs) is our long term national programme supporting care settings to connect meaningfully with their local community, and vice versa.

Through Care Home FaNs, care settings widen their support circles and create connections to people, places and passions, enhancing quality of life, health and wellbeing.

Intergenerational Linking

We co-led the biggest intergenerational project with care homes in England! Thousands of meaningful connections were formed between young people with older people living in care homes.

Working in partnership with The Linking Network and 11 community groups who led the projects in their local area, we’ve produced a range of resources and research to support those wanting to develop this idea locally.

Community Connection Resources

We have a range of community connection resources, designed to support you in setting up community links.
