Luton Leadership Levels Up: Our CPD programme supports continued growth

We’ve just completed a six-part Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme in Luton, with a brilliant group of My Home Life Luton graduates!

All the participants had previously completed our Professional Support and Development Programme (PSDP) in 2025, and we were delighted to continue working alongside them over the past year through a series of bespoke CPD sessions.

The dedicated group of care leaders came together to learn, reflect, reconnect and grow as a team. Every single participant showed their commitment by attending all six sessions, bringing a great sense of energy and honesty and a real passion for relationship centred care.

The diversity of this group was a real asset. Some members shared experiences from care homes, while others brought fresh perspectives from homecare, respite services and day opportunities. This mix sparked lively conversations and shared learning across the care sector.

A strong theme running through the CPD sessions was the value of Action Learning — a key element of the My Home Life approach. Many of the group shared how much they appreciated returning to this way of working — a space where leaders could think together, tackle challenges, and swap ideas. The group also spent time looking at the power of language in care, including a lively “Flip the Script” exercise that encouraged participants to reframe everyday interactions for the better.

We were also lucky enough to welcome guest speakers from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Luton Borough Council’s Safeguarding Team, who generously gave their time and insight to help develop the group further.

Participants told us:

  • “I look forward to the next CPD programmes.”
  • “The facilitators of the programme are amazing and very understanding.”
  • “Action Learning Sessions were good as it helps to discuss problem solving and hear other ideas.”
  • “Action Learning is the best part – flip the script – it helps me to think first and take a better approach.”

Congratulations to our My Home Life Luton Alumni for completing your CPD sessions! Thank you for your commitment to ongoing professional development, and to bringing compassionate leadership to your care services.
