Welcome to the national project page for Care Home FaNs: Intergenerational Linking – England’s largest intergenerational project!
We’re a national social action project from My Home Life England and The Linking Network that’s linking together young people aged 5-14 from schools and youth organisations with older people living in care homes across England. We’re hoping that over 4,000 participants will take part from 2021-2022!

About Us
Find out more about the project, our aims, our ethos and our funders
Our Projects
We’re currently supporting a group of brilliant charities and organisations to lead the project in 11 different areas of England.
Our Research
We’re also conducting a research project into what intergenerational linking between schools, youth groups and care homes looks like at its best.
Remote Intergenerational Linking Activities
We’ve designed a series of fun step-by-step activities that promote intergenerational contact, even when face-to-face linking isn’t possible.
Become a Care Home Friend – Intergenerational Challenge
We’re calling on more young people aged 5-14 to become Care Home Friends! Join our 10 week intergenerational challenge, complete fun activities each week and earn a Care Home Friend certificate!
