Fraser Rickatson joins our Development Board

We’re delighted to welcome Fraser Rickatson to our Development Board!

Fraser is currently Policy Manager at Care England, the national body representing independent adult social care providers.

Fraser leads Care England’s work on funding, workforce, and reform, shaping national debates and influencing government policy. He has overseen parliamentary engagement, ministerial briefings, and sector-wide advocacy to address the financial and operational pressures facing providers.

Fraser also directs Care England’s media and public affairs strategy. Committed to long-term reform, he works to secure the stability providers need to continue delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

We caught up with Fraser about his passion and vision for social care:

“I began working in social care policy only a few years ago, and in that time, I’ve seen how deeply it sits at the heart of our communities and reflects the values we hold as a society.

In my role as Policy Manager at Care England, I focus on looking to address some of the sector’s most pressing challenges – sustainable funding, workforce pressures, overcoming regulatory hurdles and meaningful reform. But what drives me most is the impact this has on people’s daily lives: whether that’s the quality of care individuals receive, or the support that staff need to feel valued in the vital work they do.”

What motivated you to join our Board?

“I was drawn to join My Home Life England’s Development Board because I hugely admire the organisation’s unique approach to championing care. My Home Life England doesn’t just produce research or policy – it shines a light on people, relationships, and the stories of what care looks like at its best. That perspective is so important at a time when the sector is often seen only through the lens of crisis.”

What do you hope to achieve?

“My hope is to bring my policy and advocacy experience to strengthen MHLE’s voice, but also to learn from its incredible community of leaders and practitioners. I want to play a part in ensuring that social care is celebrated for its humanity, compassion, and resilience, while also helping to build a system that gives providers the stability they need to keep delivering outstanding care.

For me, this role is about connection – bringing together the lived experiences of care with the policymaking arena, so that the sector is recognised, respected, and supported to thrive.”
